| Nicky lives in Ness, the most northerly region of the Isle of Lewis. Her unique paperclay sculptures are inspired by the Hebridean coastline and crofting landscape,local to where Nicky lives. Each piece is individually made using white earthenware clay, paper pulp, fibres and organic matter ,such as oats, peat, shells or seaweed. These delicate forms are coloured with clay slips, metal oxides and glazes and fired in an electric kiln. |
